How we check it
- Every value on this site comes from the official source listed on the page and links back to it.
- A listing is published only if it has at least 3 of these attributes populated from the source: Fleet size, FMCSA safety rating, Rating age, Registration update overdue, Operation, Cargo classes (MCS-150), Driver count, Last MCS-150 update.
- Each record shows the date we last verified it against the source. Records that disappear from the source are removed at the next refresh.
- No text on listing pages is written by hand or generated without data: summaries restate the source fields.
Data last verified: Oct 19, 2026.
Terms you will see
- USDOT number
- The registration number every interstate (and many intrastate) commercial carrier holds.
- MCS-150
- The registration form carriers file with FMCSA and must update at least every two years; fleet, drivers, cargo and the hazmat flag on this site come from it, as the carrier declared them.
- MC docket / operating authority
- Interstate for-hire carriers need operating authority (an MC number). Intrastate carriers are licensed by their state instead.
- Safety rating
- FMCSA's result after an on-site compliance review: Satisfactory, Conditional or Unsatisfactory. A rating is not refreshed unless FMCSA reviews the carrier again, so many are years old; each profile gives the review date. Most carriers have never been reviewed and are not rated; that is not a bad mark.
- Power units
- Trucks and tractors that pull or carry freight.
- Cargo classes
- Self-declared on the MCS-150 from FMCSA's fixed list. Some carriers tick most of the list, so a long list means 'declared', not 'specialises in'; the hazmat flag does not say which hazardous materials.
Fields
| Doing business as | As published by the source. |
|---|---|
| USDOT number | The carrier's USDOT registration number. |
| MC docket | For-hire operating authority docket number, if any. |
| Operating authority | Status of the carrier's MC docket in the census. Interstate for-hire carriers need active authority; intrastate carriers usually have no MC docket. |
| Operation | Interstate, intrastate hazmat or intrastate non-hazmat, as declared on the MCS-150. |
| Cargo classes (MCS-150) | Cargo the carrier declared it hauls on its latest MCS-150 (FMCSA's fixed cargo list). |
| Other cargo (as described) | The carrier's own description when it ticks 'other' on the MCS-150 cargo list. |
| Power units | Trucks and tractors the carrier operates (MCS-150). |
| Fleet size | Power units, banded. |
| Tractors (owned or leased) | As published by the source. |
| Trailers (owned or leased) | As published by the source. |
| Drivers | Total drivers declared on the MCS-150. |
| CDL drivers | As published by the source. |
| Driver count | Total drivers, banded. |
| Annual miles (MCS-150) | As published by the source. |
| Mileage year | As published by the source. |
| Also hauls its own freight | The carrier is classified both as for-hire and as a private carrier of its own goods. |
| FMCSA safety rating | Satisfactory, Conditional or Unsatisfactory after an FMCSA compliance review; most carriers have never had one and are not rated. |
| Safety rating date | As published by the source. |
| Rating age | How old the FMCSA safety rating is. A rating reflects one compliance review on that date, not current performance; old ratings say little about the carrier today. |
| Registration update overdue | The MCS-150 was last updated more than two years ago, past FMCSA's two-year update requirement; fleet, driver and cargo figures may be out of date. |
| Last MCS-150 update | When the carrier last updated its registration (required at least every two years). |
| USDOT registered since | As published by the source. |
| Business type | As published by the source. |
